CELTA: train with us!

How to apply for CELTA?

These are the steps that you need to take to apply:

Download the application form and the pre-interview task and fill them out.  When working on your pre-interview task it is ok to use reference materials. We also do not expect you know get everything right and to know all the answers, so do not worry if you can’t answer some of the questions.

NB! If you are applying to do both courses, please make sure that you have filled out all three documents below:

CELTA Application form

CELTA Pre-interview task

IHCYLT Application form

Once you have submitted the application form and the pre-interview task, one of the tutors or the representative of the school will contact you and arrange a time for the interview. The interview usually takes about 45 minutes and can be done face-to-face at the school or via Skype. If you are doing a Skype interview, please make sure that you have a stable internet connection and a working webcam – please note that we will not interview you if we cannot see you - this is done to make sure that it is you being interviewed.

You will know if you have been accepted on the course either at the end of the interview or after the interview via email. Do not worry if you are not given the answer straight away – the interviewer usually prefers to discuss each candidate with the tutors/the other course tutor before offering any place on the course.

Once accepted on the course, you are going to be asked to pay the deposit (non-refundable) to secure your place on the course. This when you will also be able to discuss accommodation options.

You will also be sent a pre-course task and a suggested reading list to help you prepare for the course.

The course needs to be paid for in full by the date indicated on the invoice.

Just before the start of the course you will receive a welcome letter from one of the course tutors with information about the first day’s agenda.

Congratulations – you are ready to start your course!
