The IH Riga Conversation Course for Teachers

Who is the course meant for?
The course is aimed at teachers of English who don’t often have an opportunity to discuss their ideas and opinions in English with speakers of a similar level.Who devised and organized the course?
The course was written and will be delivered by the experienced and qualified English Language Trainers of IH Riga Satva who are responsible for our own internal training and development programme. The courses will be taught by a native speaker of English. The Head of Teacher Training is Bruce Bax who has worked as a teacher trainer for six years at renowned International House schools in IH Katowice in Poland, IH Budapest in Hungary and now for his third year at IH Riga.What are the goals / aims of the course?
The course will offer an opportunity for participants to develop vocabulary related to specific themes and issues, extend their idiomatic range and improve their discussion skills in a lively, congenial learning environment. All of the subjects have been specifically chosen for their relevance to the Latvian Year 9 and 12 examinations.When and where the course will be delivered?
The course will take place weekly and lessons will last 90 minutes. There will be 18 lessons in each course. The whole course will last 36 academic hours (1 academic hour = 45 minutes). The lessons will take place at IH Riga.What does the course consist of?
