Restaurants
There are plenty of places to eat in Rīga, from Ēdnica (Soviet style, self-service, cheap and quick – don’t forget to take your English-Latvian dictionary with you) to international-style restaurants, and venues are changing all the time.
One of the more popular ones is Lido Atpūtas Centrs (Krasta 76) Part of the Lido empire. Take a 15-minute tram ride from the centre to this enormous wooden structure with a windmill, which seats hundreds. No more expensive than the other Lidos, but the choice is so great you’ll probably spend more. Large beer cellar serving ‘living’ ale brewed on the premises, so you can eat and drink till you burst for less than 10Ls!
