DELTA Module One Course
This exam preparation course is designed to prepare you for the Delta Module One examination which is held in June and December at IH Riga and is part of the full Delta qualification which is the highest level international qualification for English language teachers.
The objective of the course is to give participants a clear idea of the requirements of the DELTA exam and help them develop to the point where they feel ready to do it.
The sessions will be motivating and thought provoking and anyone is welcome to attend any sessions at any point.
The Exam will take place on the 2nd June. The deadline for registration is in April.
Course components.
The course comprises 3 interconnected elements as follows:
- Input (24 hours). 12 sessions of about 90 minutes each, covering the concepts, skills and terminology of the DELTA examination syllabus. Participants will need to attend 80% of these sessions.
- Homework tasks between sessions, either reflection on past sessions or preparation for sessions to come.
- Guided reading Books / chapters from books / articles relating to input.
Aims.
Course participants (CPs) will...
- acquire knowledge and experience of a wider range of practices in English language teaching, and a critical awareness of the principles underlying them;
- reflect upon and evaluate their practices and beliefs to date;
- apply conclusions drawn from their learning and reflection to develop their competence and confidence as English language teachers;
- be able to continue developing independently after the conclusion of the course.
